You'll be sharing this apartment with only me, Alex, an easy going, clean, respectful, male artist who is offering a wonderful private bedroom for rent in my 2 bedroom apartment. I'm looking for one renter who is also clean, respectful and good natured. The available bedroom is a good size(10x12 ft), fully furnished, and takes in gorgeous light all day through two full size windows. A new air conditioner is now installed in the room for you to use. The room faces a large open space of trees and gardens in the rear of the building away from the street. It's very peaceful (except for some pretty bird sounds). It is furnished with a good, clean full size bed, an armoire, a nice chair and end table. Of course, you are welcome to bring your own mattress (I'll find someplace else for this one if you prefer).You'll also have two entry/exit doors in the room. One is a private entrance directly into your bedroom from the hallway which is right at the top of the stairs. The other is right inside the common entrance to the apartment. A very nice option to have! All doors in the apartment are keyed on both sides with mortised antique deadbolts. This is a great set up for two people to live because our bedrooms are at opposite sides of the apartment and our spaces are divided by a short adjoining hallway and the bathroom. I also have a separate entrance to my side from the outer hallway. The shared space is an eat-in kitchen with a full size window facing the gardens, a pantry, the hallway and bathroom. Also, since it's the top floor there is a good amount of space out in the hallway to put things if needed. The best part of this place, which is very easy to take for granted, is that it's on the top floor of a 3 story walk-up(2 flights), so there is no banging, stomping, walking sounds above your head. no sounds in the hallway of people coming in late and passing by your door. And the whole space has always just had a lot of positive, creative energy. The building is a prewar row house on a very friendly, pretty tree lined block. The G train is one block away/the A and C trains are a 10-15 minute walk. The Clinton Hill & Bed Stuy neighborhoods are amazing and have everything you could want.. Great bars, restaurants, cafes, yoga studios, laundromats, supermarkets, Fort Greene Park, Nice Pizza, Dough Doughnuts, Speedy Romeo, Pratt, Family Dollar, Pilar Cuban Eatery, Choice Market, wine shops, Gourmet Delia, Bodegas, One Last Shag, Black Swan Pub, Eva Jeans and a lot more amazing places along Myrtle Ave, Lafayette Ave, Dekalb Ave, Franklin Ave, Bedford Ave, Nostrand Ave, and Greene Ave. I cook fairly often, so if you cook I have most of the common things/utensils you'll need to make or bake anything. Of course, cleaning up after ourselves after using the shared areas is expected and appreciated. The apartment has lovely solid antique doors and light fixtures throughout. It is important to note that this is not a party house, but still a very easy going and enjoyable place to live. Very much a home. The room is perfect for a student or traveler or anyone who is looking for a wonderful, comfortable short term place to live for between 3-6 months. Option to rent longer can be discussed along the way. I am looking for someone to rent the room for a minimum of 3 months (possibly up to 6 months). Rent is $1200. per month.
