We are looking for individuals with demonstrated proficiency and experience as an unarmed security officer to serve at various Special Events and fests in the Chicago Metropolitan Area. Job Summary: Provide security detail as outlined in the post orders and establish working relationships with customers, clients and local law enforcement. Security personnel will always perform job duties with a constant awareness of surrounding, making note of any and all activity that takes place in the assigned area. Security officers must maintain a professional image and demonstrate excellent customer service at all times. Basic Functions: Duties and responsibilities to enforce policies and procedures throughout the event. Greet and direct guests, monitor entry and exit points to include screening of guest and or bags. Receives and acts on complaints from patrons according to policies and procedures.Event security may also work one of the following positions:Ticket Taker, directional staff. Must be able to work day, evening, night and weekend hours and be able to stand during their shift. This position will require frequent interaction with patrons and staff so a clear and loud voice are a must and friendly and respectable attitude. Responsibilities: Must be on time and report to post in full uniform. Maintain a professional image that includes greeting customers, clients and employees in a polite and friendly manner. Being diligent to report any suspicious activity and report it. Complete any incident reports and all relevant reports related to the job. Insure training and compliance guidelines are met as outlined by Embassy. Skill/Abilities: A security officer is to be honest, alert and well disciplined as the custodians of employee and customer property and safety. Strong customer service skills and have to ability to be hands on and handle multiple priorities simultaneously. Work with a sense of urgency and have strong oral and written communication skills. Physical Requirements: Must be able to see, hear speak and write clearly in order to communicate with employees and/or customers. Pushing, pulling, carrying and lifting may include up to 40 pounds. Ability to twist, turn, bend, stand and walk as required to preform the duties associated with functioning as a security officer. Qualifications State of Illinois Active PERC Card or Active or Retired Law Enforcement Effective written and verbal communication.. The Poplar Creek Public Library District is seeking two part-time Security Services Monitors for our Main Library. Under the general direction of the Security Services Coordinator performs all security related work. Must exercise sound judgement in interpreting library policies with the ability to take decisive action to diffuse situations involving the public and/or staff. Ensures physical security of building by verifying all exterior and interior service doors are closed and locked. Completes Security Log Report and Emergency Log and submit to management in accordance with Courtesy Patrol Handbook policy/procedure. Reports all concerns, issues and questions that are beyond the scope of security to the management office. Maintains a neat and professional appearance at all times while on duty. Follows all rules, policies and procedures outlined in the Courtesy Patrol Handbook at all times. Completes clerical and other office tasks, as assigned.
