We are trying to find a new home for our beloved Blue Crown Conure "Eddie". We purchased Eddie hand tamed from a breeder about 8 years ago and he quickly became a full fledged member of the family. He speaks numerous words and phases from "Whacha Doin?" to "Scooby Dooby do" "hello" "Pretty bird" and many more. He says "scoop scoop" when he hears you filling his food dish and he mimics doorbells and other sounds. He is a delightful bird and we don't want to part with him but keeping him has become a selfish act on our part. Since we first purchased him our kids have all moved out of the house and we now both work jobs with long hours. He sets in an empty house and is paid very little attention to and that is extremely unfair and cruel to a Blue Crown Conure as he is a very social parrot. He needs to be handled and socialized with regularly. As you can verify in the screen prints from the web, the cage we purchased for him cost $695 when we bought it. I found it on Amazon currently for $639.95. You can also see from the screen print from BirdBreeders.com that Blue Crown Conures sell for $800-$1,400 with most averaging around $950. We would prefer to sell Eddie to a bird person or at the very least someone who will have the time to enjoy him and keep him engaged and happy. If you plan to stick him in a corner and not give him attention then please don't respond to this ad. We would be keeping him here if that sort of treatment were OK. Also, if you think Eddie is old, he's not. As shown by the attached screen print of a Blue Crown Conure's lifespan, they live 30-35 years (he'll probably outlive us) so he's the equivalent of a HS or college aged person in Conure years. He'll live another 20-25 years properly cared for. We want Eddie to be happy and engaged with his new owner(s) which is why we are listing Eddie with his cage and all accessories for $650 total. Tame 8 yr old Congo African Grey. Has leg band. Wings not clipped. Must be kept on pellet diet. It's not fair to cage African Greys. If you can't leave his cage open and let him hang out outside of his cage than you shouldn't get one. The reason why he is in great feather condition is because he's not caged. These animals are too smart to be caged and will pluck from stress and boredom. That's my main concern with rehoming him. Babies cost 6,800 here, this adult is 4,000 firm.
